Lee Yu-Seon

Han You-Jin
Abstract
This study considers the neuro-scientific approach to ¡°building a paly therapy relationship¡± and ¡°emotional expressions¡±, which are core elements of child-centered play therapy theory. When considering developing researches and fields of play therapy for children, neuro-scientific information as an alternative study of evidence-based play therapy is useful. Furthermore, this study emphasizes the unique identity and expertise of child-centered play therapy through the work that is being done to reinvent the value of child-centered play therapy theory. The result of this study is summarized as follows. ¡°Building the play therapy relationship¡±, which is an essential element of child-centered play therapy, helps children experience reparenting and promotes brain plasticity, which can be seen as stabilized attachment. Also, ¡°Emotional expressions¡± reduce negative emotions and increase positive motions by relaxing the amygdaloid body, which helps children to maintain self-control capability. If these processes can occur in a repetitive manner, brain plasticity continues to be promoted and be effective in psychotherapy.
